Waxing for Males and Females

Hair growth got you in a rut again? Are you sick and tired of razor cuts and fancy a break? With our waxing service, we would expect 4-6 weeks between appointments, which is far superior to your daily shaving.

Waxing is amongst the most well renowned methods of root hair removal. We use Outback Organic vegan friendly strip wax and Outback peelable hot wax for those more intimate areas. We also provide Perron Rigot strip wax for those with sensitive skin.

Plus, when your hair rears its ugly head again, the regrowth will be softer and grow slower compared to other methods of hair removal.

Waxing FAQs

How long should the hair be?

1/4 of an inch or longer, for the best waxing results.

Is it a good idea to shave in-between waxing appointments?

No! Shaving just one time in between will negate all that is gained from waxing and can further irritate follicles which can cause ingrown hair.

Are there any products. medications or treatments I should avoid before waxing?

Products

Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid – These products cause skin to become sensitive and pose problems for your upcoming waxing appointment. Both should be avoided about 7 days prior to your appointment.

Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Vitamin A Derivatives (Retinol) – These products thin the skin meaning when waxing a layer of the skin can also be removed. Ideally, we recommend you halt using your retinol products 7-10 days before your appointment.

 Medication

You CANNOT be waxed if you are taking any antibiotics, Accutane, Differin, or Retin A. Additionally, any medications that list “sun sensitivity” on the list of symptoms will preclude you from being waxed.

All these medications thin out and weaken your skin making you more sensitive and likely to burn or peel. You should wait up to 6 months depending on how long you have been on the medication before you wax, as we want to make sure the medication is out of your system so you have a pleasnt waxing experience. If you are not sure of how you may react from any other prescriptions you are taking, please give us a call beforehand so we can help you determine if you are able to get waxed.

Treatments

Botox and Fillers – Avoid waxing, facials and massage for up to 2 weeks after.

Laser Hair Removal and Laser Skin Rejuvenation – After you have finished your laser hair removal treatments we would recommend leaving at least 3 months before waxing the area for the skin to heal and be back to normal. you will also need to leave 2 weeks after the treatment before a spray tan.

Operations – Depending on the operation we would say 8-12 weeks before waxing in that area, but this may defer depending on the surgery and the area. If you are unsure please give us a call beforehand so we can help determine if you are able to get waxed.
